Your health and wellness is our chief concern, and we know that our client’s needs are as individual as they themselves are. While by no means a comprehensive list, here are a few conditions that we treat at Rock Creek Spine and Rehabilitation.
Headache
There are many different kinds of headaches, which makes it easy to understand why headaches are one of the most common ailments giving people pain. If you experience headaches regularly or severely, keep track of consistencies between episodes. What symptoms do you experience? Do certain stimuli seem to initiate pain? Having these answers at hand will help your chiropractor better understand what type of headaches you experience and how to treat them.
Neck Pain
In addition to holding up your head, your cervical spine also protects your spinal cord. Neck pain should be addressed immediately to ensure that that critical part of your spine remains in optimal health. You can help protect your neck by using good posture and getting good sleep.
Back Pain
The literal backbone of your body’s functionality, your spinal health is key to your overall wellness. Back pain can be debilitating, so let us help you find the right chiropractic solution to yours. Is the pain in your upper or lower back? Is it consistent or does it come and go? Is it sharp or dull, localized or radial? Our chiropractors at Rock Creek Spine and Rehabilitation are here to help.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) occurs when the median nerve in the wrist is compressed. It causes pain, numbness, or weakening in the wrist and hand. Causes range from rheumatoid arthritis to high fluid retention to lifestyle factors like the repetitious fine motor actions of typing.
Spinal Disc Injuries
The discs between the vertebrae of the spine are meant to protect you and bear the brunt of daily activity. When those discs become strained, they can bulge out or even tear and put pressure on the spinal column. Chiropractic care is a good way to help bulging or herniated discs move into their proper places in the spine and alleviate the pain they cause.
Numbness & Tingling
Numbness and tingling occur when the peripheral nervous system is damaged. This is known as neuropathy. It can be caused by disease, injury, or poor nutrition. In addition to a “pins and needles” kind of sensation, people with neuropathy may feel weakness or even a loss of feeling in their hands or feet.
Plantar Fasciitis
If walking or putting weight on your feet sends pain shooting through your heels and up your legs, you may have plantar fasciitis. A common affliction, plantar fasciitis can impede mobility and even develop into more chronic pain. Whether it is gentle adjustments or suggestions for changes in routine, your chiropractor can help to find a solution best for your feet.
Scoliosis
Best treated when young, scoliosis implies excessive curvature of the spine. Some cases are mild and people may not even be aware they have it. In other cases, severe spinal angles can cause discomfort, awkwardness, or pain. Chiropractic care can help correct spinal alignment, which naturally leads to a healthier you.
Whiplash
Most commonly affiliated with car accidents, whiplash occurs when the head is thrown forward or backward suddenly. The action strains the muscles in the neck, leading to pain, restricted mobility, dizziness, or headaches. You may have whiplash if neck pain is worse after periods of rest or if your neck’s range of motion is limited. Some cases of whiplash resolve themselves on their own, while other seemingly mild cases can conceal more detrimental problems.
